Pumping had ceased and the pumpers had long gone with the disappearance Of the pumping handle.
The pump itself Remains,
blank testament to over one hundred and fifty years of hard earned
Water extraction. Now, office workers and tourists pass by, some solitary,

Jim – Thanks! I was pleased with this because, being on tour, I had no say about where I stood, or for how long. As for the city itself, we were gobsmacked to see Panama City after a week in Costa Rica, where we saw nothing higher than about four stories. It felt as if we’d been dropped into a tropical version of New York, NY.
