Wood Stork, Delray Beach

That vulture-style head is just not attractive, as I think I’ve noted, but in the right light they aren’t such terrible looking birds, are they? And they get full marks for impressive.

    This bird seems to have escaped a Star Wars set. A tightly constrained power cloaked under deceiving softness and an immemorially ancient head.

      🙂 They seem perfectly happy in their own, rather hideous skin. A lesson for all of us, perhaps.
