As we get ready to launch for Myrtle Beach on the weekend, I’ve been going through my shots to see if anything inexplicably fell off the publishing schedule. There were, as it turned out, a few intimations of blogs past, both here and elsewhere.
These little cuties graced our backyard again this year from time to time, their occasional nature adding to our appreciation.
Good reflections sometimes showed up in the best place: the reflective surfaces of our own vehicle. Taking photos of other people’s car reflections can be tricky.
Reflections continued to show up in other unexpected places, but we always expect Roosevelt Dam and its bridge to be wonderful, along with the curvaceous yet rugged road leading back from it.
But long road trips weren’t necessary. Just by stepping outside our front door, we found bougainvillea: still a delight, even in its end stages. Just like our time here in Tempe.
Good that you trolled through your photos, as these deserve display. I particularly like the fence on the car and the colourful bougainvillea.
Judith – Many thanks. Maybe I’ll open an online gallery of related shots. 🙂
I REALLY like the bridge pic!
Mary – Thanks! I do, too – and it seems it’s a popular landmark.
Great pictures, Isabel.
Your title “As Seen on Screen” reminds me of things in a Surplus Store that were marked “As Seen on TV.” I bought a pair of battery-operated scissors “As Seen on TV.” Never did find anything they’d cut.
Tom
Tom – Well, that’s a disappointment, isn’t it? I don’t (much) mind paying for value, but I hate to waste money.
A miscellany of nature and artifice, each with a unique quality to delight, awe, and inspire!
For people like me in the last throes of winter, perhaps the greatest joys are invisible: no snow, no ice, temperatures well above freezing, no rain or sleet. The rosy faced love bird draws me like a magnet into its sunshiny bright feathers. The car reflections dazzle because they are unmarred by slush and road salt. The dam in its impressive dimensions appears sun-baked and innocent.
Two bridges fused impose their elegant geometry on the rough landscape, the mirroring water, and transparent air. Rock and steel reflections traversed too quickly to be written.

Laurna – It *is* startling to consider the range of images we have easy access to. Thank you for gracing my photos with your haiku.
Nice collection of photos Isabel.
I fully agree with Judith re the fence reflection.
As they say often the best picture is the one behind you. In which case it sure is nice to have a mirror at hand to capture it
Jim R – 🙂 Indeed. “Turn around” made me think of this song: Total Eclipse of the Heart. 🙂
Great “snaps” as they used to be called. 😀
